Expanded service for travelers to D.C., Saturday, March 24

Available Seats on MARC Train
MARC Train Weekend Service on the Penn Line is expanding service for those traveling to Washington D.C. on Saturday, March 24 to handle the larger volume of travelers expected. While all available Penn Line resources will be deployed, there is a possibility that seating for all passengers may not be available and that some passengers may need to stand. Please allow extra time to get to your destination and arrive at your boarding station early.
Latest revised predictions for peak cherry blossoms are in

Cherry Blossoms
Every year, an untold but surely vast number of cherry blossom fans eagerly await the National Park Service (NPS) prediction of peak bloom. This year’s predictions were announced March 1 and revised a week later because of the unexpectedly cooler temperatures we're experiencing. Now , the NPS says you’ll get your best peek between March 27-31, while the Washington Post’s Capital Weather Gang predicts peak viewing days between March 30 and April 3. MARC Train Weekend Service on the Penn Line is preparing to handle the rush with additional capacity, and MARC Train supervisors will be on the scene to make adjustments as needed. If the weather’s nice, you might even consider taking along the bikes. It’s free with your MARC ticket, with room for up to 20 bikes on each scheduled train.

According to Dave Johnson, MARC Train Chief Transportation Officer, the weather has a big effect on how many people decide to make the trip. Whether it’s sunshiny and warm or cold and rainy, MARC will be ready to roll.
MARC Riders Advisory Council is waiting to hear from you

MARC Riders Advisory Council

The MARC Riders Advisory Council (MRAC) reviews a wide number of issues that affect MARC riders. Every month, a smart, serious and busy group of customers gathers in Washington with representatives of MARC management, Amtrak, Bombardier, CSX Transportation and other stakeholders to discuss issues of concern, offer opinions and shape the direction of current and future MARC initiatives.

The council is currently recruiting new board members. The only requirements are that you are currently a MARC rider and can attend the monthly meeting. (Arrangements are available for teleconferencing when necessary.)

Think your point of view is worth sharing to help make MARC a better riding experience? Fill out our online application to join the the MARC Riders Advisory Council.
